Support device for portable electronic device
The invention relates to the field of arrangement of accessories on the dashboard of a motor vehicle. It relates more particularly to a support device for a portable electronic device on a dashboard of a motor vehicle.
Portable electronic devices are understood to mean devices such as portable telephones, for example portable telephones of the “smartphone” type, multimedia electronic tablets, touch tablets, or more generally any other type of portable electronic device in the form general parallelepiped and presenting a screen intended to be consulted or modified by the user.
The increasing use of these devices creates a need for the user to be able to position them in the motor vehicle, in particular when the user is the front passenger of the motor vehicle.
It is known to fix these portable electronic devices on the dashboard of the motor vehicle using a conventional suction cup system. However, this suction cup system, in addition to distorting the general aesthetic appearance of the dashboard, does not allow a solid and reliable attachment of the portable device to the dashboard, especially in a context where the vehicle is subjected to vibrations likely to cause the loss of the support by separation.
There are also known supports integrated into the dashboard of the vehicle projecting from the dashboard. However, such supports do not meet safety standards in the event of an impact.
Indeed, the dashboard of a motor vehicle comprises, in addition to a certain number of accessories related to safety or comfort often arranged in a substantially central manner, an airbag in the event of an impact on the front passenger side (“airbag passenger ”), and a small storage compartment, fitted with a door, fitted in the dashboard above the feet of the front passenger. The arrangement of these components in particular must be optimized to allow better comfort and optimal security. In particular, for the safety of persons on board the vehicle, it is essential that no object obstruct the deployment of the airbag in the event of an impact.
The objective of the invention is therefore to alleviate the aforementioned drawbacks and, in particular, to propose a support device for a portable electronic device on a dashboard of a motor vehicle capable of being integrated in the size of the dashboard while being easily accessible by the passenger, and meet the safety standards imposed on car manufacturers in the event of an impact triggering the passenger airbag.
To this end, the invention relates to a support device for a portable electronic device on a dashboard of a motor vehicle, comprising a mobile support frame having a reception area intended to accommodate said device, said mobile support frame being fixed. by a pivot connection around an axis of rotation perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle in a recess arranged in said dashboard in the upper part of said dashboard and preformed to adopt the profile of said movable support frame, so that said movable support frame is pivotally mounted with respect to said recess between a stowed position in which said support frame is retracted in said recess and a position of use in which said support frame is deployed outside said recess so as to present said zone of welcome in a visible and accessible way.
Advantageously, said support frame has first and second adjacent regions which are fixed relative to one another, the axis of rotation being arranged at one end of said first region situated opposite said second region on which is arranged in said reception area, said first and second regions being arranged to, in said position of use, extend opposite each other respectively inside and outside said recess, with respect to a front face of said dashboard delimiting said recess.
Preferably, the first and second regions respectively constitute a first planar region and a second region having a curvilinear profile which turns its concavity towards said first planar region.
Advantageously, in said stowed position, a free end of said second region at least partially seals an opening formed at said front face through which said support frame is intended to be deployed when it passes from said stowed position to said position. of use.
Preferably, said recess is arranged in a storage compartment integrated into the dashboard in the upper part of the dashboard.
Advantageously, said support frame is adapted to pass from said position of use to said stored position under the action of a force exerted by the deployment of an airbag installed in the lower part of the dashboard.
Advantageously, said reception zone comprises an upper support zone intended to form a stop for a portable electronic device and a lower rim intended to form a lower retaining means of said device.
Preferably, said reception area is equipped with at least one additional holding member comprising elastic return means for pressing the portable electronic device in abutment on said reception area at said lower edge and / or said upper support area.
The invention also relates to a dashboard, in particular for a motor vehicle, characterized in that it comprises a storage compartment in the upper part of the dashboard and an airbag in the event of an impact located in the lower part of the dashboard, and a support device for a portable electronic device as described above, located between said storage compartment and said airbag.
Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge clearly from the description given below, by way of indication and in no way limitative, with reference to the appended drawings, in which:

The support device according to the invention is intended to be arranged on a dashboard of a motor vehicle, and is designed to receive and detachably hold a portable electronic device in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle.
In the following description, the terms "longitudinal", "transverse >>," vertical >>, "top >>," bottom >>, "front >>," rear >> are defined with respect to the usual orthogonal coordinate system motor vehicles, shown in the figures, and comprising a longitudinal axis X, horizontal and directed from front to rear of the vehicle, a transverse axis Y, horizontal, perpendicular to the axis X and oriented from left to right of the vehicle and a Z axis, vertical, perpendicular to the X and Y axes and oriented upwards. Referring to Figure 1, which illustrates a portion of the interior of a motor vehicle, the latter comprises a dashboard 10, which extends in the transverse direction Y of the vehicle. FIG. 1 illustrates more particularly the part of the dashboard, which is located in line with the front passenger seat 12 and which extends transversely to the vehicle from a central area of the dashboard located substantially between the driver's seat and the seat front passenger and one side of the vehicle on the front passenger side. The dashboard 10 comprises an upper surface 10a forming a tray in the upper part of the dashboard, which can integrate, according to the embodiment of FIG. 1, a storage compartment 14 provided with a door 16 to allow the access to the internal volume of the storage compartment 14, and a front face 10b constituting a part of the dashboard forming a facade and extending downwards from the upper surface 10a. As it appears more clearly in FIG. 2, the invention is preferably part of a dashboard configuration where an airbag 18 is installed on the passenger side, in the lower part of the dashboard. The airbag 18 is illustrated in the configuration deployed in FIG. 2, in which it is deployed on the front of the dashboard, to come between the front passenger of the vehicle and the dashboard, in the event of an impact. .
In accordance with the invention, FIG. 1 illustrates the presence of a support device 20 for a portable electronic device, located at the dashboard 10 between the storage compartment 14 in the upper part of the dashboard 10 and the airbag 18 located in the lower part of the dashboard 10. The support device 20 is illustrated in the position of use in FIG. 1 and aims to allow the front passenger of the vehicle to be able to place a portable electronic device 30 , such as a touchscreen tablet or smartphone, on the dashboard. One of the problems with this installation configuration is to ensure the safety of the system during an impact triggering the deployment of the airbag on the passenger side.
To do this, and as it appears more clearly in FIG. 2, the device is in the form of a mobile support frame 21 designed to be able to retract automatically into a recess 22 formed in the upper part of the dashboard 10 during deployment of the airbag 18 located in the lower part of the dashboard, under the action of the latter. More specifically, the mobile support frame 21 is fixed by a pivot link about an axis of rotation Y0 perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle in the recess 22, which is preformed to adopt the profile of the mobile support frame 21, so that the mobile support frame 21 is pivotally mounted relative to this recess 22 between a stowed position in which the support frame 21 is retracted into the recess 22 (position illustrated by the support frame 21 shown in dotted lines in FIG. 2) and a position of use in which the support frame 21 is deployed outside the recess 22 so as to present a reception area 23, formed on the support frame 21 for the portable electronic device, in a visible and accessible manner at the rear of the recess 22 along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, either in front of the front face 10b of the dashboard for the passenger (position illustrated by the supp ort 21 shown in solid lines in Figure 2).
Preferably, the recess 22 in which is intended to retract the mobile support frame 21 during the deployment of the airbag
18, is arranged in the storage compartment 14 integrated into the dashboard in the upper part thereof. Note, however, that the support device could also be installed on a dashboard without a storage compartment. More specifically, according to the embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 and 2, the recess 22 is constituted by an internal volume of the dashboard extending transversely in the upper part of the dashboard between the front face 10b of the dashboard and the internal volume of the storage compartment 14, and separated from the latter by a transverse wall 24 extending substantially upwards, defining with the front face 10b of the dashboard an opening through which the frame mobile support 21 can pass from the position of use to the stowed position. In other words, the recess 22 is delimited in the anteroposterior direction of the vehicle in the longitudinal direction of the latter on the one hand, by the transverse wall 24 separating the recess 22 from the internal volume of the storage compartment and, on the other part, by the front face 10b of the dashboard.
The door 16 of the storage compartment 14 is pivotally mounted about a transverse axis on one side of the storage compartment 14 opposite the transverse wall 24 and is adapted to come to rest on the transverse wall 24 in the closed position of the storage compartment 14 , without closing said opening 25, so that the support frame 21 can be used with the door open or closed from the storage compartment.
As indicated above with reference to FIG. 2, the support device of the invention comprises a kinematics allowing the support frame 21 to pass from the position of use to the stored position according to a pivoting movement of the support frame 21 relative to at the recess 22 in which it is mounted, in response to deployment of the airbag 18 in the event of an impact. This kinematics is allowed thanks to the following configuration as illustrated by the embodiment of FIG. 2. Thus, the mobile support frame 21 more precisely has a first region 21a and a second region 21b adjacent, fixed one by relative to the other, the first region 21a constituting a planar element from which protrudes the second region 21b, on which is arranged the reception area 22 for the portable electronic device, which has a curvilinear profile turning its concavity towards the first planar region 21a. The axis of rotation Y0 of the pivot link between the support frame 21 and the recess 22 is disposed at the lower end of the first planar region 21a forming a pivot, or at the end located opposite the second region 21b and, in the position of use, the first and second regions 21a and 21b are arranged to extend opposite each other respectively inside and outside the recess 22 , relative to the front face 10b of the dashboard defining the recess 22. Thus, in this position of use, in the event of an impact, the deployment of the airbag 18 located in the lower part of the dashboard will exert a push from bottom to top against the second region 21b of the support frame 21 extending out of the recess 22 in front of the front face 10b of the dashboard, causing the tilting of the support frame 21 around the axis of rotation Y0. It is then possible to return the support frame 21 to its stowed position where it is retracted into the recess 22 (corresponding to the position in dotted lines in FIG. 2) by pivoting around the axis of rotation Y0. The support frame is designed to move in an angular travel of 90 ° between the use position and the stored position. In the stowed position, the free end of the second region 21b of the support frame 21 at least partially blocks the opening 25 made at the front face 10b of the dashboard through which the support frame 21 is intended to be deployed when it passes from said stowed position to said position of use.
The reception area 23 formed on the second region 21b of the mobile support frame 21 for accommodating the portable electronic device 30 comprises an upper support zone 26, intended to form a stop for the portable electronic device 30 and a lower rim 27 intended to form a lower retaining means for the device 30. The lower rim 27 is in the form of a receiving groove formed at the lower part of the second region 21b of the support frame 21, defining a opening of elongated shape in direction Y, delimited by two parallel edges extending upwards.
The support zone 26 and the lower edge 27 of the second region 21b extend parallel to one another in the transverse direction Y of the vehicle and are connected to each other by curvilinear branches s' extending in parallel substantially vertical longitudinal planes. A recess is therefore shaped at the center of the second region 21b to receive an edge or a lower part of the electronic device. This recess can be opening (the second region forming a frame as in the example illustrated) or not opening (embodiment not illustrated).
The upper support zone 26 and the lower rim 27 are advantageously provided with elastomer inserts to promote the adhesion of the portable electronic device.
With reference to FIG. 3, the reception area 23 can be equipped with at least one additional retaining member 28 arranged in the lower part of the reception area and designed to allow the portable electronic device to be pinched. received in the reception area. This holding member 28 comprises for example a transverse bar 29 arranged along the receiving groove 27 by means of elastic return means 31, permanently urging the transverse bar 29 in a locking position where it is pressed against the portable electronic device 30 placed in the receiving groove 17. The transverse bar 29 is for example provided with a lever 32 allowing the passenger to bring the transverse bar 29 into an unlocked position against the action of the means elastic return. The upper support zone 26 forming a stop for the portable electronic device 30 could also be equipped with complementary retaining members capable of holding the device by pinching in this area.
